Research Abstract	日本人英語学習者の「国語作文力と英語作文力」、「英語力と英語作文力」との間には、それぞれ統計的に有意な相関関係があることが確認された。また、英語力が低い学生群の「国語作文力と英語作文力の相関係数」は低いが、英語力の高い学生群の「国語作文力と英語作文力の相関係数」は高いということも、確認された。この調査結果は、国語作文力が英語作文力の大きな影響要因となるためには、ある一定レベル(敷居レベル=閾値=threshold level)以上の英語力が必要であるということを示唆している。
