Research Abstract	政党政治家による政党政治擁護論は、通常、民主政治先進諸国の理論・事例を援用してその正統性を訴えるものだと考えられている。しかし近代日本に於いては、政党政治を敵視する藩閥政府を説得しながら、国民の信頼をかちとるために、政党政治家は「政党政治は明治天皇がつくった欽定憲法の趣旨に適うものである」との論法も併用していた。この傾向は「憲政の神様」と称揚された尾崎行雄に顕著に表れる。政党政治家は欽定憲法史観の普及に寄与したのである。
