Research Abstract	1950年から1970年において、英連邦に資源大国が多かったことが、英系資源企業の競争力をもたらした、という仮説について実証的な検証を行うことが本研究の主な課題であった。この仮説検証にあたって、主要な英系資源企業であるリオ・ティント社のBP社の対外投資についての研究を行った。英系資源企業は、資源ナショナリズムの下での困難と資源国有化を経験した後、政治的に安定し、かつ友好的な英連邦諸国への投資を増大させた。この英系資源企業の行動変化は、主要資源企業の間で共通していた。また、英連邦諸国の資源産出量と英系資源企業の投資の間に拡大の好循環が見られた。したがって、英連邦の資源大国と英系資源企業の競争力の間の関連が確認された。
