| Research Abstract |
シャジクモ藻類Nitella属は世界中に広く分布し、大部分は特異な形態や生態を示す地域固有種である。本研究で世界中から多くの重要な種を採集し、分子系統解析によってそれらの系統関係を調査した結果、Nitella属は単系統群(共通祖先から派生した種をすべて含むグループ)ではなく、従来の分類体系は実際の系統関係と大きく矛盾していることが明らかになった。本研究の結果に基づいて従来の分類体系の矛盾点を修正し、その成果の一部を国際誌および学会で発表し、新分類体系構築への方向性を示した。
