Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、必ずしも信念及び欲求にはよらない行動を含めた、拡張された意味での行為者性について、多様な観点からアプローチする研究拠点を形成すべく、心の哲学、言語哲学、形而上学等の専門家による研究チームを形成し、それぞれの専門分野の強みを生かして、行為者性の諸相を探求する。

2018年度の研究成果として、PIである宮園は、R. Millikanに由来するPushmi-Pullyu Representation (PPR)によって不合理な行動や無意識的な行動を説明するプロジェクトを進め、精力的に研究発表をこなし、共同行為を主題とする論文"Being one of us. Group identification, joint actions, and collective intentionality"(A. Saliceとの共著)がPhilosophical Psychology誌に採択されるなどの成果があった(掲載前のため、本年度の業績としては未記入)。プロジェクトチーム全体としても活発、生産的な研究活動を行うことができた。論文としては、(書評ではあるが)British Journal of AestheticsやNortre Dame Philosophical Reviewなどへの掲載、書籍としては、Routledgeからの単著、及び、Oxford University Press, Palgramve Macmillan, Sageからのブックチャプターの出版があった。チーム全体として、23件の国際学会・研究会での発表をこなし、また、26件の国際研究集会をオーガナイズした(うち、22件はTokyo Forum for Analytic Philosophy Talk)。

2018年2月にTokyo Workshop on Agency and Cognitionを開催し、Tim Bayne (Monash University), Fiona Macpherson (University of Glasgow), Neil Sinhababu (National University of Singapore), Brian McLaughlin (Rutgers University), Nick J.J. Smith (University of Sydney), Kenneth Aizawa (Rutgers University), Catharine Abell (University of Manchester)などのスピーカーを交え、5日間にわたって活発で密度の濃い議論を行った。

Reason

「研究実績の概要」の項目で述べたように、プロジェクトチーム全体として非常に活発、生産的な研究活動を行うことができたと考えている。2019年度以降も同様、あるいはそれ以上の生産性を実現したい。

一つの課題としては、プロジェクトメンバー個々人は生産的に研究を行っているものの、メンバー同士の共同作業、共同研究などに関していささか物足りなかったと考えている。2019年度以降、この点について改善を図りたい。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

「現在までの進捗状況」の項目で述べたように、メンバー間の共同研究を積極的に促すべく対策を講じる予定である。具体的には、メンバー間のミーティングの回数を増やしたり、共同研究のための研究合宿を企画するなどを予定している。
