Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the precious musical pieces of the Yamada-School Koto music and Juta Sokyoku, which are considered to be classical, rare or little-known, and are in danger of not being conveyed to the next generation, as to help pass them on to future generations. The findings and results of this study are as follows.1.Amended the current catalogue of the Yamada-School of koto music, adding new pieces including discontinued ones and Jiuta pieces. 2.Made catalogues. 3.Collected documents of Yamada-School Koto and Juta Sokyoku. 4.Investigated the differences in the traditions of different schools and art forms. 5.Interviewed the masters of the tradition who pass it on to the next generation. 6.Collected and archived recordings of current music. 7.Organised performances that include rare songs. 8.Examined the differences between performances of the past and the present through a concert of historical recordings via SP records.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の対象である山田流箏曲及び地歌箏曲の稀曲については、公開演奏はおろか伝承も危機的状況で、次代への継承が危ぶまれており、学術的な研究は行われているものの、演奏を伴う研究は十分ではない。本研究は公開演奏を行うことで、伝承を次代へつなぐことだけでなく広く国民に周知することができるのではないかと考えた。研究を通して楽曲目録の再作成を行い、稀曲による公演の開催および歴史的音源(SPレコード)による公演の開催という「演奏を伴う研究」を行ったことで、伝承を次代へつなぐことだけでなく広く国民に周知することができたと考えている。
