Outline of Final Research Achievements	In this research, we as an international collaborative research team visited early childhood education facilities, elementary schools, middle schools and gymnasiums, as well as universities and education-related institutions in Germany. On the other hand we invited researchers from Germany into Japan and visited together some schools in Japan. In addition, several international collaborative conferences on the themes as public education, school curriculum, lesson, inclusive education, and teacher education were held. This international collaborative research has revealed the possibility of constructing public education by overlapping the recognition of children's differences and the interrelated realization of commonality in educational practices, on the other side, the further enhancement of welfare functions in schools based on the reality of children from diverse backgrounds and the guarantee of their rights on the other hand.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	コンピテンシーベースで取り組まれている国際的な教育改革動向のなかで、ポストコンピテンシーの公教育のあり方を探究したこと、ならびに日本とドイツの大学研究者を中心にして、教育制度論ではなく、カリキュラム、福祉・インルーシブ、教師教育を一体化させて具体的な教育実践にまで踏み込んで共同研究したことに学術的意義がある。また、今後の公教育を構築する視点とそのための国際共同研究のあり方を明らかにした点に学術的・社会的意義がある。
