Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we developed a scale to measure children's civic pride, which is the ability to become aware from childhood that their own health is created by their social environment, the community, and to be actively involved in making their community a healthy place to live and work. Group interviews were conducted with junior high school students, a draft scale was developed based on the extracted categories, and a survey was conducted with junior high school students and their parents in rural and urban areas. Children's civic pride was extracted as a concept that was nearly identical to the concept of civic pride among Japanese adults. The ability to care about one's own health and the health of one's parents, especially the health of the children around them, was also suggested as a possible way to foster civic pride.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
