Outline of Annual Research Achievements

- 個人内過程に関する実験研究では、国民意識や政治的イデオロギーが、移民や障害者など少数者に対する排斥態度を助長する過程、さらに自身と異なる信念をもつ他者との接触回避が、分断の原因となる過程を明らかにした。また、イデオロギーに影響する伝統的価値観に関する検討では、因子分析により主要な4つの価値観を見出し、文化的自己観への影響も明らかにした。加えて、清浄志向性や空気信仰が、主張的行動に影響することも明らかにした。さらに、偏見やアンコンシャスバイアスが社会的排斥や分断の要因となる可能性についても実験的研究による知見を得た。
- ソーシャルメディアの内容分析によるマクロ・レベルの分析として第１に、道徳一般に関係する英語と日本語のツイートを大規模に収集し、道徳的話題を共有する社会的ネットワーク（クラスター）と道徳基盤の関係性を調査した。結果は、英語ではCareが最大クラスターを形成する要因であったのに対し、日本語ではそれがAuthorityが関連する基盤であった。第２に、反ワクチン運動に関する道徳的分断を、新型コロナに関する大規模ツイートを分析して調査した。その結果、毒性の高い言語表現の使用や、不安を煽る行動の存在が明らかになった。
- 自身の行動は熟慮に基づくが他者はマスメディアに影響を受け易いという認知バイアスが、マクロなレベルでの分断につながる過程を、社会調査により検証した。特に政治的立場と学歴が及ぼす影響が明らかになった。
- 文化比較研究の結果は、病原体を避けようとする動機づけが、同性愛者や性に対する伝統的な態度への違反に対して否定的であり、これが分断の一因となることを明らかにした。また、道徳基盤の遵守が共感や認知的閉鎖欲求により説明されること、溜め込み行動とアニミズムや物欲主義、コントロール感等との関係を通して、モノを介した分断の可能性を示唆する重要な成果を得た。
