Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、粘弾性流体の流れの構造を微分方程式の観点から理解することである。2020年度までに、円柱周りの粘弾性流体の定常流れに対して、弾性効果を表すパラメータとして知られるワイゼンベルグ数が大きくなると流れの非対称性が現れるという結果を空間2次元の数値シミュレーションにより得ている。このことは、大きなワイゼンベルグ数かつ非定常な流れにおいて、より複雑な現象が起きる可能性を示唆している。一方、粘弾性流体の研究において本質的に必要なのは、比較的大きなワイゼンベルグ数に対しても高精度な数値シミュレーションを安定に行える数値計算スキームである。我々は、多くの数値解法の中から、よく知られた有限差分法、および、領域形状の柔軟性があり数値解の信頼性に関する数学基盤が比較的整っている有限要素法に対して研究を進めた。時間とともに変化する粘性流体の特徴を高精度に捉える際に重要なのは物質微分(移流項)の離散化手法で、これに対しては、いわゆる風上(上流化)手法により解決されている。粘弾性流体においては、これに加えて、余剰応力テンソルに関する構成方程式に現れる上対流微分の離散化手法が重要となる。上対流微分は、ラグランジュ座標と一般化リー微分のアイデアにより別表現が可能である。我々は、この別表現に基づいた上対流微分の時間2次精度離散化に成功した。有限差分法と組み合わせた論文を発表し、また、有限要素法と組み合わせた成果を学会で発表した。さらに、アイデアを応用することで、この離散化手法が、対数を用いて変換して得られる微分方程式においても適用可能であることを見出した。発展的な研究成果を得ており、本課題の研究期間終了後も関連する研究成果を期待できる。
