Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度に引き続き、スパッタリングによる合金ナノ粒子合成を引き続き行っている。スパッタリング法によるナノ粒子合成は物理的合成であり、原子・クラスターをチャンバー内で発生させ凝集させるプロセスであることから、固溶体粒子を作れる可能性が高い方法である。1B族である金と白金族との合金ナノ粒子の合成に挑戦した。このとき、金ナノ粒子はスパッタ法でも粗大粒子ができるが、10%以上の白金が含まれるようにスパッタリングされた場合には粒子は非常に小さくなり、20%を越えると粒子径が4 nmよりも小さくなり、凝集もしにくくなることが分かった。さらにプラズモン吸収バンドも見えない。これらの粒子をさらに微細にする方法によって蛍光性クラスターの合成と発光特性の検証を行う。これには、当研究で購入した蛍光寿命測定装置を利用する。
また、銅についても酸化を抑制して合成できるようになり、パラジウム-銅合金ナノ粒子のスパッタリングによる合成と、その微細構造について詳細に検証した。XPSにより合金化と、HAADF-STEMにより固溶体構造を有していることが示された。単結晶粒子であり、今後光学特性について検証していくこととしている。同様に、白金-銅合金ナノ粒子もスパッタリング法による合成に成功しており、生成メカニズムについて詳細に検討した。このとき、スパッタアウトされた原子・クラスターはまず補足液(おもにポリエチレングリコールを使用)表面で微細な凝集を作った後、液中での凝集が起こる。この液中での凝集時に表面に吸着する有機分子があれば、2次凝集的な光学挙動を示しうるのではないかと推察している。

Reason

種々のナノ粒子の合成には既に成功しており、その件についての論文発表、学会発表を行っている。多元系についての検討、スパッタ条件の詳細について検証することができた。また、粒子の微細構造についても検証できている。さらには、ナノ粒子の成長メカニズムも詳細に検討した結果、クラスターの2次凝集ができる過程についてある有力な仮説に行きつき、これについて検証していけば本研究課題の当初の目的を達成することは可能であると考えている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

得られたナノ粒子の光学特性について詳細な検討を行っていく。さらに、ナノ粒子の生成メカニズムについて深く検証した結果が得られ、強い発光を示しうる粒子の成長・生成システムについて有力な仮説をえたのでこれの実証を行っていく。
