| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
大気エアロゾルの重要な発生プロセスである新粒子生成（NPF）は、最終的に雲凝結核の濃度を決定付け、地球の気候に影響を与える。しかし、NPFによって生成間もないナノ粒子（直径：数nm～100nm）の化学組成は、その質量の小ささから捕集および化学分析が極めて難しく、十分に理解されていない。そこで本研究では、①ナノサイズの大気エアロゾルを粒径ごとに細かく分級し、かつ高効率で採集できる新たな装置を開発し、②季節に応じて東アジアの様々な地域に起源を持つ空気塊が観測可能な能登半島先端を観測フィールドとして、実大気中で起こる新粒子生成（NPF）の観測に応用することを目的としている。
平成３０年度は、ナノ粒子を効率的に採集できる装置（DAPS）の開発を念頭に、その性能評価に必要なエレクトロスプレー式のナノ粒子発生装置や微分型移動度分析器（DMA）を作成し、実験基盤を整えた。連携先の米国ADI社の研究員とも直接議論する場を設け、進捗の共有、方向性について検討を行った。また、本研究計画の最終年度以降には表面増強ラマン分光法（SERS）の応用によるナノ粒子の高感度分析についても盛り込んでいるが、その技術的な研究も並行して進めており、その進捗に基づいた科学論文を国際誌Aerosol Science and Technology誌に国際共著論文として発表することができた。開発中のDAPSと表面増強ラマン分光法のような高感度分析手法を組み合わせることにより、ナノ粒子の高時間分解能測定の実現に向けた応用が期待できる。

Reason
装置の開発に不可欠な凝結核カウンタ（CPC）の不具合など、予期しないトラブルによって実験に支障がでる問題はあったものの、表面増強ラマン分光法の技術的な検討では一部計画を前倒しで成果が得られており、全体としてはおおむね順調に推移してると判断できる。

来年度以降も、ひきつづき米国の連携先と密に連携し、開発計画の進捗を共有、必要に応じて装置デザインの微調整を行いながらナノ粒子の採集装置の開発を加速させる。金沢大所有のDMAとCPCを用いて装置の分級特性および捕集効率を実験的に評価した後、試験的な実大気エアロゾルへの応用を目指す。
