Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During Year 2021, we finished the following works. (1)Realized simultaneous recovery of phosphorus (P) and alginate-like exopolymers (ALE) from algal-bacterial aerobic granular sludge (AGS); (2) Proposed and tested a new efficient P recovery strategy by extracting the P-rich liquid during the anaerobic period when operating the algal-bacterial AGS system; (3)Made clear the role of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) during the biogranulation of single cell microalgae; and (4)Quantified the heavy metals recovery potential of algal-bacterial AGS and verified the safety of the posttreatment of heavy metal-loaded algal-bacterial AGS by using hydrothermal treatment. We published 15 peer-reviewed high quality journal papers and 18 conference presentations on the above 4 aspects.
