| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究では，高い生態系サービス機能を有する藻場の保全に向けて，地下水が沿岸環境の多様性形成に及ぼす影響を評価することを目的とする．そのため，島嶼部沿岸を対象に(1)海底湧水（Submarine Groundwater Discharge: SGD）にともなう淡水，熱，栄養塩輸送量の空間分布および季節変化を把握するとともに，(2)衛星データに基づく藻場の空間分布および季節的消長との対応性を評価し，最終的に (3)陸域の地下水・地表水流動状況変化にともなう藻場の変化のモデル化を試みる．今年度得られた成果は以下のとおりである．
(1) SGDにともなう淡水，熱，栄養塩輸送の空間分布および季節変化の定量的評価；1)1年目の内容を継続し，瀬戸内海の島嶼（主にA: 広島県生口島およびB: 岡山県鹿久居島）沿岸部を対象とした調査を行い，塩分，水温，ラドン（222Rn），濁度，クロロフィル（Chl.-a）および栄養塩（窒素，リン，珪素）濃度の空間分布および季節変化を確認し，それらの結果に基づきSGDの空間分布の推定を行った．2)1年目の内容を継続し，藻場の分布するエリアを対象に海水温および塩分の連続測定を行うとともに，潮位変化や降水量の変化にともなうおよび浮力フラックスの変動を推定した．
(2) 藻場の空間分布および季節的消長と陸水流入の関係性評価；1)1年目の内容を継続し，人工衛星データに基づく対象地域のNDVI（Normalized Difference Vegetation Index）値から藻場の分布域を推定し，現地観測データとの比較・検証を行った．
(3) 陸域の地下水流動状況が藻場に及ぼす影響のモデル化；1)1年目の内容を継続し，対象地域の陸域における地下水および河川水のモニタリングを実施するとともに，流域地下水流出モデルにより，降水量や土地利用にともなうSGDの変化の解析を行った．

新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大にともない，今年度（令和2年度）に入って以降研究活動の制限が続いており，野外での観測や研究室での実験が実施できていないため．

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響により，野外観測や研究室での実験の一部が当初の予定どおりに実施できない可能性も出てくることから，時期をずらして野外観測などを実施することを視野に再検討していく．また，これまでに得られた現地調査の結果の分析・解析を引き続き継続するとともに，オンラインで入手可能なデータ（気象観測データ，衛星データなど）を使って実施できる解析やモデル計算にも力を入れて進めていく．
