Theory of nonlinear and nonreciprocal responses in noncentrosymmetric electronic systems

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

らせん磁性体における非線形応答については、室温動作する量子インダクター物質YMn6Sn6を実験グループと協働で開拓し、その非線形応答を理論的に解析した。また、“アルキメデスのらせん“に対応する電荷とスピンのポンピング効果を調べ、その乱れ、らせん周期、化学ポテンシャル依存性などを詳細にわたって明らかにした。らせん磁性の発展として、3次元のスピンテクスチャであるホフィオンの電流誘起ダイナミクスを調べ、それが交流電流に対して非相反応答を示し、それがベリー曲率で定義されるトロイダルモーメントなどの多極子によって支配されていることを見出した。
シフトカレントの物理的性質に関しては、非線形光学応答の一般論をリーマン幾何学を用いて定式化するとともに、運動量空間における計量テンソル、クリストフェルシンボル、リーマン曲率が、それぞれ電場に関して線形応答、2次、3次の応答に対応することを見出し、特に3次応答では非線形ホール効果がトポロジカル絶縁体の表面状態でリーマン曲率によりほぼ支配されていることを示した。また、シフトカレントの概念を熱流に拡張し、光照射によって定常熱流が誘起されることを示した。フォノンによるシフトカレントについては、実験グループと協働で強誘電体BaTiO3において実証することに成功した。その際、第一原理電子状態計算によってその大きさを定量的に予言した。
らせん構造をもつナノチューブ超伝導体に対してGinzburg-Landau理論を構築し、その超伝導揺らぎによる電気伝導と超伝導相におけるダイオード効果を解析した。その結果、スピン・軌道相互作用やゼーマン磁場効果がなくても、幾何学的な構造と軌道磁場のアハラモフ・ボーム効果にって非相反応答が生じることを示した。
