Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2022年度は、最終年度であったが、2021年10月より産業技術総合研究所(産総研)のクリーンルームの改修ならびに超伝導集積回路作製に関わる22台の製造機器の2/3の更新という想定していなかった事態に遭遇した。暫定的な復旧にも1年を要したことから、研究期間延長を承認いただき、実質的に実験を伴う研究については、2023年度まで実施した。しかしながら、更新した装置の微調整は、2023年度末まで続いたほか、産総研で試作を担当するテクニシャンの働き方改革の影響もあり、大きな制約下での研究実施となった。
大規模単一磁束量子(SFQ)回路については、測定評価を2022年度に行った。ゲートレベルパイプライン処理8ビットマイクロプロセッサの57GHz動作等、設計技術とともにサブ100GHz大規模SFQ回路の基盤技術を構築した。
π接合を利用した半磁束量子(HFQ)回路については、回路パラメータの最適化ツールの開発を通して、動作の本質に迫った。HFQ回路の基本要素となる0-π SQUID(0接合とπ接合を含む超伝導量子干渉素子)に自発的に流れる周回電流が、バイアス電流と同様に機能し、結果として小さなバイアス電流でHFQ回路は動作する。また、π接合の挿入は回路構成によっては自発的な位相シフトを誘起し、動作余裕を低下させる。この解消に向け、初期位相を確定するために、現在は適宜π接合を用いた位相シフタを挿入している。なお、産総研の製造プロセスの停止を受け、名古屋大学においてπ接合だけで、小規模SFQ/HFQ回路を形成するプロセスを構築、トグルフリップフロップなどを実証している。
メモリに関しては、光速で伝搬するSFQパルスだけでセル選択が可能なπ接合ベースのマトリクスメモリの開発を進めた。1セル並びに1x8セルのメモリを実証した。
このほか、3次元実装技術の研究を進め、SFQパルスの伝搬を確認した。
