Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年は、(1)スピン軌道モット絶縁体α-RuCl3におけるKitaev量子スピン液体状態、(2)鉄系超伝導体FeSeの強磁場中におけるFulde-Ferrell=Larkin-Ovchinnikov(FFLO)状態、(3)近藤絶縁体YbIr3Si7における中性フェルミオン励起の研究を主として行った。
(1)では、キタエフ量子スピン液体における、半整数量子熱ホール効果の符号の磁場方向依存性が、マヨラナバンドのトポロジカルチャーン数と一致することを示した。さらに量子化された熱ホール効果が平行磁場においても観測され、Planar 熱ホール効果の存在を明らかにした。(2)ではFeSeに垂直磁場をかけて、磁場中で新しい超伝導相が誘起されることを示した。さらにトンネル顕微鏡により、この相では磁場に垂直に超伝導が破壊された面が存在することを示し、FFLO状態の存在を示した。(3)では、反強磁性を示す近藤絶縁体YbIr3Si7において極低温熱伝導率および比熱測定を行い、YbB12と同様に中性フェルミオン励起が存在することを示した。そして磁場によるスピン構造変化を観測し、それに伴い中性フェルミオン励起の性質も変化することを明らかにした。
これらはすべて本研究プロジェクトの主目的と完全に合致している。

Reason

本研究ですは、キタエフスピン液体のPlanar 熱ホール効果の発見、トポロジカルチャーン数の決定、FFLO状態の直接観測、近藤絶縁体における中性フェルミオン、そしてアナポール秩序など当初予期していなかった新しい発見が次々とあった。しかがって当初の計画以上に進展していると判断する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

これまでの研究をそのまま継続するだけでなく、原子層膜のキタエフスピン液体の測定を行い、マヨラナフェルミオンと非可換エニオンの直接検出を目指したい。さらにカゴメ超伝導体における回転対称性の破れの検証実験を行い、電荷密度波による回転対称性の破れの検出などの、新しい研究にチャレンジする。これとは別に子銅酸化物高温超伝導体の擬ギャップ状態におけるplanar Hall効果の測定も行うことを計画している。これらはすべて、本プロジェクトの回転対称性の破れの研究と密接に関連したテーマである。
