Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
My research topic is the light-matter interaction in new emerging atomic layer material (新規原子層物質における光と物質相互作用), especially I focus on the plasmon and on the propagation of light in solid. During the second year of my JSPS employment, I published several papers as follows: (1) Planar rotation of electric field induced by edge-plasmon in a graphene nanoribbon: We discuss the surface plasmon that propagates near the edged of graphene. We found that the electric field rotates as a function of time on the graphene's surface, which generates out-of-plane optical spin angular momentum. (Phys. Rev. B, 100, 155432-1-10, (2019)). (2) Circular dichroism and Faraday and Kerr rotation in two-dimensional dimensional materials with intrinsic Hall conductivities: We derive a general formula for optical conductivity for 2D material, which is represented by the Haldane model. From the formula. we discuss the circular dichroism and rotation of polarization of incident light in 2D material (Phys. Rev. B, 101, 045426-1-13, (2020)). (3). Scaling Laws in Synchronization of Metronomic Oscillatory Systems: We discuss the occurrence of synchronization phenomenon in a many oscillator systems. We found a general formula for synchronization time (Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 89, 054002-1-9) .
