Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research went smoothly as planned. In this year, I continually focused on arsenic (As) hyperaccumulators which showed a promising strategy as As phytoremediation and additional potential by combining rhizobacteria with them. I have successfully isolated Cupriavidus basilensis strain r507 and Pseudomonas vancouverensis strain m318 strains from Pteris vittata and Pteris multifida (As hyperaccumulators). These strains showed several promising potential traits that may facilitate As phytoremediation, such as higher As tolerance, with aioA-genes, As oxidation, siderophore and IAA secretion, high affinity to P. vittata. I tried to do the long-term field trial to test the stability and feasibility of strain m318 for improvement of As phytoremediation, which suggested is not only to restore the aboveground vegetation but also to make sure underground soil and associated microorganisms with a state of uncontaminated and good bioactivity. Furthermore, the close system to explore the interaction between the plants and associated microorganisms demonstrated the P. vittata was the major drive force to shift the rhizobacterial community structure. I published 3 papers and attended several international conferences and national conferences. Academic communication provides the enlighten thoughts and ideas about my research.
