Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We carried out statistical studies of early-phase observations of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) and found that all luminous SNe Ia show early light-curve excess, while normal ones do not show the excess. Our result suggested that SNe Ia may have multiple origins and the explosion mechanism of luminous SNe Ia may be different from that of other SN Ia subclasses, which brings us new clues of understanding of the long-standing explosion and progenitor issues of SNe Ia. The result was published on a refereed journal in 2018. In addition to academic paper writing, I also attended several international and domestic conferences/symposiums to introduce our recent studies to the astronomical community. I was benefited a lot by discussing with colleagues all over the world.
