Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
TFPPy-DETHz-COF with tetragonal structure was constructed by building blocks of 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(4-formyphenyl)pyrene (TFPPy) and 2,5-diethoxyterephthalohydrazid (DETHz). This COF showed high BET surface area of 1090 m2 g-1 and pore volume was 0.5 cm3 g-1. This material has demonstrated CO2 uptake capacity about 90 mg g-1 at 273 K and 1 bar. To enhance the capacity for CO2, TMHzcB-TFB-COF with microporosity was constructed through condensation of 1,3,5-tris(3`-methoxy-4`-hydrazinecarbonylphenyl)benzene (TMHzcB) and 1,3,5-triformylbenzene (TFB) under solvothermal conditions. The new hexagonal COF showed high crystallinity, permanent micropores and abundant activated sites on the walls. The CO2 capacity of TMHzcB-TFB-COF can reach up to 11.9 wt% at 273 K and 1 bar.

Reason
In the past year of research, I read a lot of literature to design functional building units to construct COFs. To promote the project, I synthesized new building blocks through several steps and check various different conditions to optimize porosity of COFs.
