コロナウイルスのため２０２０年度に予定していた調査が一切中止になって、企画を変更せざるを得なかった。最大の変更は仮名法語全体のデータベースの作成を諦めざるを得なかった。
最終成果発信はヨーロッパ日本学国際学会（EAJS）での発表であるが、学会が延期になって、２０２１年8月24‐28日の開催（オンライン）になった。
そこで代表者として「Revisiting the Zen Vernacular Sermon (kana hogo): Towards a Renewed Study of Literary and Doctrinal Aspects from the Medieval to the Early Edo Period」という題のパネルを設定し、「Seeking Doctrinal Precision in kana hogo: Medieval Zen Discourses in Early-modern Context 」という題の発表で科研の成果を発信するする予定である。
また、本研究の延長として、仮名法語と随筆について国際共同研究プロジェクト「Essais au fil du pinceau (zuihitsu) a l’epoque d’Edo (XVIIe-XIXe siecles) : recueils de reflexions et d’observations sur le passe et le present des savants japonais premodernes」に招待された。2021年6月16日に講演（オンライン）をする予定である。
