Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまでの研究成果を、特に海外の査読付き出版物を通して発表することに力を入れた。国内外で資料の収集を進め、その精読・分析に力を入れながら、さらなる論文執筆に取り組んだ。

具体的な成果としては、2020年出版が確定している海外の査読付出版物が2つある。ひとつは、“Carson McCullers’s Musico-Psychological Narrative and American Democracy during World War II: ‘Madame Zilensky and the King of Finland’ in the Socio-Political Context.” Understanding the Short Fiction of Carson McCullers. Eds. Alison Graham-Bertolini and Casey Kayser. Mercer University Press. もうひとつは、“Vladimir Nabokov’s Musico-Literary Microcosm: ‘Sounds,’ ‘Music,’ and Nabokov’s Quartet.” The Five Senses in Nabokov’s Works. Eds. Marie Bouchet, Isabelle Poulin, and Julie Loison-Charles. Palgrave Macmillan. である。

さらに、Vladimir NabokovとNathaniel Hawthorneに関する論文が海外で査読に合格し、2021年の出版が予定されている。

Reason

国内外での資料の収集、その精読と分析、論文執筆が、予定通り順調に進んでいる。その成果として、これまでの研究が、今のところ2020年に2本、2021年に1本の論文という形で、海外の査読付研究書を通して出版されることになっている。また、執筆中の論文が1本ある。これらの研究成果は、大学・大学院での担当授業にも柔軟に反映させ、公開に努めている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2021年の出版が決定している論文 “Vladimir Nabokov’s American Short Story Surrounded by the Image of Russia: ‘The Vane Sisters’ in Nabokov’s Quartet.” Russian and American Short Story. Eds. Jeff Birkenstein and Robert Hauhart. Lexington Books. の手直しや校正を、編集者と進め完成させる。

執筆中のT. S. EliotのFour Quartetsに関する論文を完成させ、海外の査読付き学術誌に応募する。また、Thomas MannのDoctor Faustusに関する論文の執筆を開始する。
