Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Due to the COVID pandemic, I have not been able to gather students into a room and conduct the research protocol following the same methods as the first part of the research. Because a change in the protocol may influence the data collected, I have been postponing the data gathering until the pandemic conditions improve. With the widespread vaccination rate and growing risk tolerance for gathering, I am confident that I will be able to finalize the data collection phase of the research. Although I have not been able to collect primary data at this time, I have continued with an extensive literature review of the most contemporary ideas related to this research. I have also submitted presentation proposals to international and domestic conferences to present the progress of this research.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The COVID pandemic has severely limited my access to research subjects. What is more, the research trajectory from start to finish of each group of participants is eight weeks. The unpredictable nature of whether people can gather in the near future has made it difficult (almost impossible) to initiate a group of research subjects in the research protocol. Because the timing of study sessions is very relevant to the target of the research, altering the timing to meet the COVID restrictions would render any data collected from that cohort useless. I do not want to waste the research funds, so I am being very careful to ensure that no cohort is interrupted. This care has resulted in a very extended research period.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
As the pandemic progresses, two changes seem like they were permit me to resume the data collection: the high vaccination rate in my area and a growing acceptance for groups gathering. Until recently, neither of these conditions existed. I fully expect to be able to able to move forward with the research and to have it completed within the year.

Causes of Carryover |
I will present the findings from this research multiple times this year. If the COVID restrictions permit, I will present overseas. Presenting at a North American conference (travel+hotel+conference fee) will require approximately \250,000. I will also purchase some additional reference texts to support my writing of papers related to this research. These will require approximately \100,000. The remaining funds will be used for printing costs related to printing the research tools used in the research and for printing presentation materials.
