| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
最終年度である今年度は、成果報告を中心に行った。8月にモロッコで開催されたThe International Workshop: The Taste of Knowledgeでは“Chewing Qat with Adnan”においてイエメンにおけるカートの社会的な役割を再確認し、カートのない韓国での状況を比較検討した。
9月にトルコで開催されたIUAES, Commission on Anthropology of the Middle Eastでは“Working Refugees: Yemenis in South Korea”においてイエメン人の韓国移民への経緯と、彼らがイエメンで嗜好していたカートが存在しない生活について報告した。
10月に香港で開催されたEast Asian Anthropological Association Annual Meetingでは“Humanitarian Exploitation: Yemenis in South Korea”においてイエメン人が韓国で人道的滞留許可という身分で滞在しているものの、社会の最底辺に組み込まれ、韓国人が避ける傾向にある職場で働いている者が多いことを報告した。
成果論文としては電子ジャーナルArabian Humanitiesに寄稿し、2024年度に公開予定である。昨年度のシンポジウムThe 1st International Symposium of the Indian Ocean World Studiesで発表した内容も2024年度に公開予定である。
