Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We prepared a database to conduct a survey on the use of the patent system by Japanese researchers, which we are planning to implement these days. Further, I gave a number of presentations on standard-essential patent protection at conferences in Europe, and conducted hearings and interviews with stakeholders, judges, etc. on this issue. On the trade secret / information governance side, we worked on putting together a research handbook of information governance and law, and I have been working on an article discussing the convergence of reasonable efforts in the context of trade secret protection. I also gave a lecture on trade secret protection in Japan at a conference in Europe.
