Outline of Final Research Achievements

Through this joint research, we were able to conduct interviews with 6 relevant parties, and save records of their testimonies. Also, we were able to compile those testimony records into a single report, and donated this report to university libraries in Japan, official libraries in Okinawa Prefecture, and researchers in related fields. This relevant parties are as follows: IRAMINA Kokichi, GIMA Mitsuo, NISHIDA Kenjiro;, NAKAZATO Toshinobu, GUSHI Kosuke, ONAGA Masatoshi.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

近年、沖縄の保守勢力に関する関心は高まっており、同勢力を扱った研究も出始めている。こうした研究状況のなか、沖縄の保守政治家6名の証言記録を保存・刊行した本研究成果は、今後の沖縄保守勢力研究の基礎資料になるばかりか、沖縄の戦後政治研究を発展させる上で重要な資料になると考える。また、新聞記事や議会資料などでは知りえない情報が豊富に盛り込まれているため、現役の政治家やジャーナリストにとっても有益な資料であり、社会的価値もあるものだと考える。
