Outline of Final Research Achievements

Recently we recognize the development of liberal juridical norms in France. Islamophobia, however, is reinforced by these liberal norms. Muslim citizens are supposed to behave according to Islamic norms which may be in contradiction with liberal norms, hence when liberal norms are cited as justification for enforcign complaince, they constitute a form of islamophobia. Consequently public institutions may discriminate against Muslim citizens, especially in the spheres of security, political participation, and education. In response, resistance against islamophobia is organized especially in the sphere of education, rather than in terms of political participation and security.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
