Outline of Annual Research Achievements

We already got ethical approval to carry out our research from National Center for Global Health and Medicine from Japan and will soon get approval from Bangladesh side. All the preparation is completed to carry out survey in Bangladesh. Soon we will start our baseline survey in Bangladesh.

Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

I was in maternity leave from April 2018 to November 2018. So, I cannot start my research project activities from the beginning. After joining in December 2018, I started formal procedure to get ethical approval from Japan. The survey will be carried out in Bangladesh. So, we also started formal procedure to get ethical approval from Bangladesh. We will start our survey as soon as we get ethical approval from both countries.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

We get ethical approval to start our research from Japan side in 15th May 2019. We will also get ethical approval from Bangladesh soon. We have planned to complete our baseline survey by July 2019. We will complete data entry and cleaning soon thereafter. After the baseline survey, a one-year education-based intervention program will be initiated to increase awareness about healthy lifestyle to manage non-communicable diseases among students and their respective parents and teachers.
By July 2020, we will complete our end line survey to see the effect of intervention. Within one month from then, we will finish data cleaning and will start data analysis. The disseminated result will be published and presented in national and international journals and conferences.

Causes of Carryover

The incurring amount will be used to carry out baseline and endline survey in next fiscal year. We need to hire research assistant and interviewer to collect data and will need to pay personnel expenditure and remuneration for them. We also need the incurring amount to pay publication fee and English editing fee.
