Outline of Annual Research Achievements

According to our research proposal, during the last 3 years of our project, we completed survey in five schools and collected data related to lifestyle and dietary behaviors, non-communicable disease awareness and anthropometric data from 1350 students aged 12 to 18 years. We abled to collect data only for 400 parents due to school closure for COVID situation. From the collected student's data, we already submitted one article in BMC Public Health journal on the topic sleep behaviors and obesity. It is now in revision stage. We drafted two papers on the topic 1) screen viewing time and obesity; and 2) risk behaviors score and obesity. We will soon submit these two papers in peer reviewed international journal. We also presented our findings in a national conference in Japan Epidemiological association. Using our available data, hopefully, we can publish 5 or 6 papers in peer reviewed journals and presented our findings in national and international conferences. The conclusions drawn from our research work will help to formulate policies and provide messages to control non-communicable diseases in Bangladesh.
