Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We worked on two games, published a paper on the participatory game design process of one of our games, and shared our expertise with the community to the degree that this was possible amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The pandemic made it difficult to hold the hands-on workshops we had planned to run. Our project is designed for close, face-to-face collaboration with the surrounding community, but amidst viral fear about COVID-19, it became difficult to hold public events.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We are currently completing our historical river ecology game "Flow," and also now printing the English translation of our SDGs-focused game "Assistance." To the degree that we can amidst the pandemic, this year, we plan to workshop these games and also seek community participation in the design of a third locally-focused game.
|
Causes of Carryover |
We aim to complete the publication of our 3 games, run educational workshops locally, and if possible travel to share the results of our research at academic conferences.
