Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Although the number of foreign-born preschoolers and children who need help adapting to Japanese culture is increasing, Japanese teachers and caregivers have fewer training opportunities and less confidence than their counterparts in other countries in dealing with diverse cultures (National Institute for Educational Policy Research, ed. 2020). This study proposed training programs for early childhood education and care practices that support the language development of linguistically and culturally diverse children and motivate them to learn. In addition, we investigated childcare support, including maternal and child health care, to support children who are not connected to childcare. Finally, we examined whether local support systems function based on the voices of supporters and those involved. Models of regional networks were collected.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
言語的文化的に多様な子どもたちが、育つ権利を保障される保育実践と地域支援が追究されている地域が国内にいくつもある。そうした地域で、実際に行われている支援システムが実際に機能しているかを支援者と当事者の声から検証した。 複数の言語環境の中での子どもの育ちについて、保育者は専門的な研修を受ける機会が少ないことから、保育者や地域支援者向けの研修プログラムの開発を進めた。すべての子どもにとっての言語環境を充実させることを目指す保育を提案している。
