Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study is to develop learning theory and teaching materials about contemporary Japanese history from a viewpoint of East Asian perspective and the youth experience living in neoliberalism era. We clarified the principle of learning theory based on the concept of “Life”, which promote the historical thinking ability to connect the past and the present.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

これまで学校教育のなかで「戦後史」に関する学習は教師たちにも軽視され、子どもたちにとっても学ぶ意味が見出しにくい領域となってきた。本研究では、既存の戦後史の学習内容が現代社会の要請と子どもたちの関心に応えきれていないことを問題にし、新たな内容構成論の構築に取り組んだ。その際、「生存」と呼ばれる概念に依拠しながら、歴史を眺める視線を人々の日常的な生活経験の次元にまでおろし、教育や医療、労働などを焦点としながら生存体制を規定する国家・社会システムの在り方を問う学習アプローチを提起した。これにより子どもたちの「生」（人生・生活）との接点を担保し、過去／現在を往還する歴史学習の可能性を探った。
