Outline of Final Research Achievements

I have examined learning support systems of famous research universities in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Australia with comparative method. As a result, I have found that all of these universities of three countries have tried to establish support systems especially for foreign students, but all of them are suffering financial problems.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は一般的な学修支援を論じたものではなく、研究のプレッシャーが教員に大きくかかる研究大学において、いかに学修支援システムを構築していくのが望ましいかを検討したものである。その結果、中国とオーストラリアの研究大学では留学生（大学院生を含む）のサポートシステムの充実に注力していることが明らかになった。ことにオーストラリアでは「大学教育」は重要な輸出品目であり、より多くの留学生の獲得を巡り、他のアングロ＝サクソン諸国と競合しているため、中国、インド、インドネシアを中心に留学生獲得のためにサポートシステムの充実を訴えていることが明らかになった。
