Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A series of multidisciplinary problem-based learning (PBL) sessions targeting students of six academic fields in health, medical, social welfare, and nutrition sciences at six universities were conducted to promote human resources playing an active role in the healthy aging society.A video conference system and a document preparation service were used as the session platform, through which the participants worked to formulate strategies for the given problems. The number of issues identified in the cases of elderly couples were compared before and after the group discussions; the mean number of identified issues increased from three to six. The results demonstrate that the PBL sessions enabled all students to grasp the situation accurately and enabled them to propose effective solutions by utilizing the advantages of their academic expertise.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
どの分野の学生も「学びたい」という動機を高めて主体的に学べる分野横断型教育システムを確立し、その成果として「これまで想定されなかった能力、資質を引き出す」分野連携PBLの実現ができた。 分野連携PBLにより、学生も教員も「タコつぼ」のような枠組みを壊して、広い世界に飛び込み、幅広い視野や知識を得る喜びと動機づけが得られた。また異分野の人とのコミュニケーションから受ける刺激、他分野学生へのリスペクトの感情や信頼関係の構築など、チームアプローチを行う上で必要になる連携力を身につける良い学修機会となった。さらに問題解決能力を身につける学修機会にもなり、教員間の協働やコミュニケーションが促進された。
