Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the earth science education, it is important to understand processes acting in natural phenomena through real specimens and/or experimental modelling. Several interesting and important teaching materials have been developed for studies on lava flows, laminated sediments, westerly waves, extinct animals such as ammonites and dinosaurs. Mineral specimen sets occurring in volcanic ashes have been made to enhance students' skill for identification of rock-forming minerals. Recommendations regarding how to utilize the teaching materials such as mineral specimen sets in junior high school science classes have been proposed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
