Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The current research examined frontal cortex function associated with language processing and outcomes using psychological surveys, neuro-cognitive measures (i.e., Go-No Go task), and fMRI scans of bilingual Japanese young adults. Questionnaire surveys were collected from 183 participants, data collection for neuro-cognitive measures was obtained from 75 participants and 15 participants completed fMRI data collection. Results obtained from this project have been submitted to international peer reviewed scientific journals for review and were virtually presented at the 2021 Hawaii International Conference on Education.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Questionnaire surveys were collected from 183 participants, neuro-cognitive measure data were collected from 75 participants, and fMRI data were collected from 15 participants. Analyses of the questionnaire survey, neuro-cognitive measure and fMRI data is complete. Results obtained from this project were submitted to international peer reviewed scientific journals for review and for presentation at national and international academic conferences. Data publication and presentation were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Results obtained from this project have been prepared and submitted to international peer reviewed scientific journals for review. The publication of these results in international peer reviewed journal(s) are aimed for 2021 or early 2022. These results will also be submitted for presentation (either in person or virtually) at national and international academic conferences in 2021 and 2022.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic I was unable to present my research at national and international conferences in person. However, I plan to travel and present my findings from the current research project in 2021 and 2022 at national and international conferences if I am permitted to travel.
