Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the last year of our KAKENHI project, we finalized and published our last two projects. In particular, we finalized the paper "Pareto optimal fronts of kinetic proofreading" that was recently published in New Journal of Physics. In this paper, we characterized the optimal tradeoffs between speed, error, and dissipation in error correcting biochemical networks and is therefore a main outcome of our KAKENHI grant. Additionally, we finalized and published a paper with our collaborators at Tohoku University. The paper is titled "Error-suppression mechanism of PCR by blocker strands" and was recently published in Biophysical Journal. This paper applies of our theory to the Polymerase Chain Reaction, which is an important reactions for biochemical applications. With these two additional publication in relevant journals in our field, we consider that our project has been very successful.
