Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research introduced an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to the wireless communication system and proposed an access protocol. In the proposed protocol, the UAV is equipped with a uniform linear array (ULA). The UAV creates a virtual sector by beamforming. The virtual sector is switched by dynamically placing and rotating the UAV, and hence many mobile nodes can communicate with the UAV. The computer simulation results and analytical results have elucidated that the proposed protocol can improve the transmission quality compared to the conventional protocol where an omni-antenna is mounted at the UAV.
