Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Al濃度を系統的に1~43wt%まで変化させた、Mg-Al合金に対して電気化学測定を行った。Al濃度が1~8wt%では、Al濃度の増加につれて腐食電位の上昇がみられるが、9wt%から腐食電位が低下する。また、β相単相(43wt%Al)では-1.4V程度と5wt%Alと同程度の電位を示す。この腐食電位の変化は、単純なAl濃度による貴化では説明が出来ないことから、各相の表面に形成したマグネシウム水酸化皮膜Mg(OH)2の厚さの違いなどが影響していると考えられる。1~3wt%Alでは、溶体化処理によりα単相の試料が得られた。三相の鋳造材と比較して、腐食特性の差はあまり認められなかった。
シミュレーションと、それに基づき作製したMg-Al-X合金試料の電気化学測定(分極測定)では、β相を不安定化させる元素として(X=Zn, Ag)や点欠陥として原子空孔が見出された他、逆に安定化する多数の元素(X=Sn,Bi等)が得られた。それに基づきXとして4種類の元素を各1wt%添加した試料の金属組織から得られたβ,Al-rich-αの体積率を求めた。鋳造まま材では、非平衡状態の組織のため、計算結果とは傾向が合わない元素もあったが、430℃で1h熱処理後では、β相の体積率は、定性的にシミュレーション結果と良い一致を得た。各合金の腐食特性値については、 β相体積率に対して複雑な挙動を示すことが分かった。
