Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
It is no doubt that daily source of energy consumptions is essential, which is strongly associated with the quality of our lives. Li-organic batteries have been widely enquired with adopting distinct and suitable organic molecules. Ni(II) norcorrole (NiNC) precisely projected its antiaromatic natures and the efficient interconversions between antiaromatic and aromatic conformations persuaded the excellent battery behaviors. Elongated π-conjugations have reflected a unique aromatic phenomenon in applied magnetic fields, associating with the conformation flexibilities. Of the elongated π-system, hexaphyrin batteries was prepared and the proficiency towards an active electrode material for the efficient organic batteries was examined. Each hexaphyrin molecule of [28]Hex cathode involved four electrons per a unit cycle ideally, and performed typical charge/discharge processes of Li-organic battery. Fast charging rate still afforded reasonably stable charge/discharge performances over 200 cycles. A manuscript of the related chemistry is prepared/revised for the submission in a research journal as an invited research. The related research was also presented in international conferences (ICPP-10: Jul. 1-6, 2018, Munich; NU-PKU workshop: Jan. 28-29, 2019, Nagoya; A3 joint seminar: Jan. 18-20, 2019, Atami). Furthermore, another manuscript on NiNC research is prepared/revised for the submission in a research journal with a journal invitation.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
To collect research information and to enhance the research collaboration opportunities, the main investigator attended specific international conferences and related researches of the investigator have been presented in international conferences (ICPP-10: Jul. 1-6, 2018, Munich; NU-PKU workshop: Jan. 28-29, 2019, Nagoya; A3 joint seminar: Jan. 18-20, 2019, Atami). Furthermore, two manuscripts on separated researches are prepared for the submission in research journals, with journal invitations.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Several research collaborations, linked by the international seminars (A3 joint seminar: Jan. 18-20, 2019, Atami) are/ has been planed. NiNC itself as well as new chemicals capable of active electrode materials are further investigated and searched for. The main investigator is also preparing several research papers that are mainly focused on photochemical/photophysical properties. Connection between molecular properties and battery proficiency is studies and investigated. Not only the electrode material itself, but also other components in batteries, such as electrolyte and commercialized battery kit are also explored to achieve the proper behaviors towards photo- and redox-responsible as well as proper battery behaviors with self-healing capability.
