Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
There is no doubt that daily energy consumption is essential, associated with the quality of our lives. Ni(II) norcorrole (NiNC) has exhibited excellent interconversions between antiaromatic and aromatic conformations. Since excellent battery behaviors of Li-NiNc have been obtained with the NiNc cathodes, inexpensive and high abundant Na complementary batteries have been investigated with the NiNc electrodes. High composite (70 wt%) NiNc electrode has compromised nicely with the high redox durability and precise ion insertion, resulting in High discharge capacity, high stability, and high efficiency of Na-NiNc battery with high current densities, which was published (Mater. Adv. 2021, 2, 2263) and highlighted as the front cover of the journal issue. A manuscript is now in preparation for the subsequent research. An oral presentation on NiNc batteries will be given at an international conference (ICPP-11). Reactivities of NiNc have been further studied, and some results have been reported (Org. Lett. 2020, 22, 4400). A manuscript is in preparation on charge/discharge behaviors of Li-organic and Na-organic batteries with an expanded porphyrin electrode. The structure of a low spin-state and diamagnetic Co(III) complex has been published (RSC Adv. 2021, 2, 2263). The result will be reported as a poster presentation in ICPP-11.
