Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During this Kakenhi Kiban C research, I have investigated with theoretical methods the ionic conductivity and environmental degradation of electrodes in solid oxide fuel cells. I have published one research articles: Staykov, A. et al. J. Mater. Chem. A 2018, 6, 22662 and research article is recently submitted and under revision to the Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids. I have presented my results at several scientific conferences including Royal Society events and PACRIM 13. During the research, I elucidated the comparative interaction of CO2, H2O, and H2O with SrTiO3 electrode surface. I have created accurate thermodynamic model to estimate the surface coverage. As result, I have estimated that water vapors successfully protect perovskite electrodes from formation of carbonate.
