Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results of the quantitative analysis showed that 1) men have lower food consciousness and more disordered eating behaviors than women; 2) older men who live with their families but often eat alone have the same low food consciousness and disordered eating behaviors as older men who live alone; 3) older people who are economically well-off and have abundant food information have better eating habits; and 4) the dietary balance intake ratio is higher in rural areas than in urban areas in eastern Japan. 4) The dietary balance intake ratio may be higher in rural areas than in urban areas in eastern Japan and vice versa in urban areas than in rural areas in western Japan.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
急速な高齢化の進展に伴い,高齢者の「食」に関してフレイル予防を目的とした栄養学・医学研究が活発化している。しかし,日々の食事が日常生活の重要な構成要素でありながら,高齢者の「食に対する満足感」や「食行動・食意識」に関する社会科学研究は緒に就いたばかりである。こうした状況下にあって,大規模標本調査の個票データを用いて,食満足度や食行動・食意識に影響を及ぼす社会経済的要因を検討した点に学術的意義および社会的意義があるといえる。
