Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study showed that cell viability was more than 60% when cell culture vessels with lid were frozen using 3D freezer. This study suggested that 3D freezer could generate high cell viability even under the same cell preservation solution depending on the conditions. 3D freezer might make it possible to freeze high density cells for making cell sheet.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

3Dフリーザーの凍結条件によっては、細胞シート作製の為に必要となる高濃度な細胞密度であっても、非凍結細胞と同程度の細胞生存率を生み出すことができる結果であった。そのため、今後、更に3Dフリーザーの凍結条件を検討することで、非凍結と同等の治療効果を持つ凍結保存可能な細胞シート作製法に繋がり、3Dフリーザーに凍結法は、臨床応用可能な、高品質な他家細胞シート移植の急性期疾患への適用を実現させる可能性がある。
