Outline of Final Research Achievements

Although tenorrhaphy is commonly conducted in ruptured tendon, postoperative complications, such as adhesion formation and tendon re-rupture, usually result in poor outcomes. In this study, we developed new anti-adhesive agent, using Oligo-Tetra-Peg gel which has four arm polyethylene glycol. The result showed that the hydrogel has an inhibitory effect on migration of scar tissues, and prevented adhesion formation around repaired tendons. In addition, the hydrogel didn't prevent healing process of tendon.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
