Outline of Final Research Achievements

We proposed a single-step method and a closed test procedure as multiple comparison procedures for main effects in two-way models and multiple comparison procedures among correlation coefficients in multi-sample bivariate normal models. The proposed procedures are shown to be superior to previous multiple comparison methods. Maurer et al. (1995) proposed gatekeeping procedures based on Bonferroni's inequality. In multi-sample multivariate normal models, we proposed gatekeeping procedures based on the max value of t-statistics and based on chi-square statistics. The proposed gatekeeping procedures were superior to Maurer et al. (1995). Furthermore, nonparametric gatekeeping procedures were discussed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

分散分析法では,位置母数の一様性の検定がおこなわれるが,位置母数の間の違いを具体的に指摘できない。また,信頼領域であたえられるため明確な違いを指摘できない。これに対し多重比較法は,どの位置母数の間に違いがあるか指摘できる。このため,生物医学心理学などの分野で,多重比較法を教育しデータ解析に用いられている。本研究では,2元配置モデルにおける位置母数や2次元正規モデルにおける相関係数の多重比較法の解明が行われた。さらにこれまでのゲートキーピング法を優越する手法が提案できた。本研究で提案された手法は,多くのデータ解析に適用できる。
