Outline of Final Research Achievements

1)Information learning terminal: We have developed a system that can output 3 types of teaching medias (Text, Braille, and voice) at the same time with the same teaching materials, and confirmed that they operate stably with 4 blind schools and 2 rehabilitation centers. 2)Improvement: As a result of the demonstration experiment, we improved the equipment and created a dictionary of technical terms for Japanese input, voice synthesis, and Braille conversion, which are indispensable for learning. 3)Correspondence to distance lessons: In the midst of corona virus, we made it compatible with distance lessons and verified whether it was available to visually impaired students. Regarding the operation in the blind school, the rules regarding information and communication in each prefecture are strict, and in consultation with the school, we also verified the communication between each experimental cooperation school by Wi-Fi router. The possibility of collaborative learning was suggested.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、1つの教材で、画面拡大表示・点字出力・音声出力の3つが同時に出力可能なシステムを開発し、視覚障害者に対する学習効果などの検証を行ったものである。利用する視覚障害生徒の利便性が向上しただけでなく、教員側も生徒の状況に合わせて、3種の教材を用意する必要が無く、1つの教材だけで対応できるため、教材作成の利便性が向上した。また、遠隔授業対応もされ、学校の寄宿舎や自宅での遠隔指導についても利用出来ることが示唆された。
