Our five-year project, initially titled 'Impact of ICRNs on Healthcare Providers,' adapted due to the Real-World Evidence (RWE) programs by the US FDA. This program extended RWD, incorporating electronic health records and insurance databases, allowing us to utilize our global collaborations in patient registries and broaden our research scope.
We embraced this shift, delivering significant articles like 'Endovascular versus Open Repair in AAA Patients: A Japan Claims-Based Data' and review articles like 'RWE in Cardio-Oncology: A Sea of Opportunity.' These underscored the influential power of fit-for-purpose RWD in shaping healthcare strategies.
In summary, the project bolstered our ICRN international partnerships with diverse RWDs. Our findings highlighted the impact of non-traditional data in healthcare research, establishing a trajectory to address unmet medical needs. The project's success highlights our team's adaptability and resilience.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
医療技術評価学は、医療イノベーションと患者安全性の両立に重要な役割を担う。しかし、承認前の非臨床試験や臨床試験のみでは限界がある。今回我々は、国際レジストリ連携（iCRN）から発展した米国FDAの新概念「リアル・ワールド・エビデンス（RWE）プログラム」について、その臨床的意義と医療機関における課題を検討した。
本研究の科学的意義は、新たな方法論の「目的に応じた」信頼性と妥当性を評価したことである。社会的意義は、各リアル・ワールド・データ源の利点と欠点を明確にしたことである。データ駆動型医療戦略の新時代を切り拓き、有効かつ安全な治療を迅速に医療現場に届けることで、患者予後の向上が期待される。
