Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have published one article. The article is entitled, "Animals in Restoration Theatre, 1660-1710", published in Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Theatre Research. The article is a survey of animals on the Restoration stage. The article covers the use of animals as part of entr'acte entertainment. It suggests that live animals made a significant contribution to theatrical productions of the period. Additionally, I attended and gave a presentation at the The 96th General Meeting of The English Literary Society of Japan (May, 2024). I gave a presentation entitled "Entr'acte Entertainment and Stage Rivalry in London, 1695-1708". The paper charted the development of entr'acte entertainment in the context of stage rivalry in London from 1695 to 1708.
